Police say they have found a third person involved in an armed robbery of two people after a parking-lot meeting set up to complete the online sale of a designer belt.
Police charged Shalique Amiel Battle, 17, with two counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon and one count of conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon. Police had released a photo of him Sunday evening and say media coverage generated tips that led to his arrest.
The stickup happened April 7 in the 3800 block of New Bern Avenue after the transaction had been arranged through social media, police said.
After Battle sold the belt and walked away, police said, he came back with two other men and robbed a 17-year-old youth and a 19-year-old woman of cash, a backpack, an iPhone and the belt they had just purchased.
