The county sheriff's office appealed to the public Tuesday to help investigators find Demontae Rowland, charged with being one of five people who held up a sweepstakes parlor last month.
Four suspects in the May 10 holdup at the Daye to Daye Beach Bingo Sweepstakes, at 3709 Wake Forest Road, were arrested between May 17 and June 8 and are being held in jail.
Rowland, 25, is charged with second-degree kidnapping because people were in the business when the robbery happened about 11:30 p.m., robbery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon.
Deputies said the day after the robbery that four men entered the business and one waited in a getaway car. They did not say Monday what role they believe Rowland played.
Sheriff’s investigators and the FBI’s Durham Safe Streets Task Force made the four arrests.
Anyone with information on Rowland’s whereabouts was being asked to contact Durham CrimeStoppers at 919-683-1200 or Investigator Cpl. R. Cox at 919-560-0880.
