RALEIGH A 20-year-old man was arrested Sunday evening on charges that he and another man had broken into a Stonecliff Drive apartment in the middle of the night and robbed the occupants at gunpoint earlier this month.
Detectives had sworn out a warrant on July 13 charging William McArthur Lassiter of 1331 Park Glen Drive with first-degree burglary, robbery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy.
The warrant stated that it was Lassiter who went into the apartment about 2 a.m. on July 6. The man with whom police said Lassiter conspired was not in custody Monday morning.
The arrest warrant asserted that Lassiter took three pairs of sneakers and gold jewelry.

Police caught up with Lassiter at a strip shopping mall at 11 N. Raleigh Blvd., records showed.
The arresting officers also charged Lassiter with resisting arrest, saying he had run away from them and misdemeanor drug possession.
A magistrate refused to grant Lassiter bail, saying that he already was awaiting trial after a grand jury indicted him in March for possession of a stolen fire arm and carrying a concealed weapon.
