A Holly Springs woman punched the principal and assistant principal of Herbert Akins Road Elementary School and kicked a police officer in the groin during an incident late Wednesday afternoon, police charged.
Charges filed against Christina Florine Bonnett, 38, of 205 Pine Orchard Court, said she punched Principal Kendra Culberson and Assistant Principal Jennifer Carfano in the face and kicked Officer David Taylor.
Police said they got a call at 5:21 p.m. and found Bonnett “displayed signs of disorientation and confusion as to a private matter involving the custody of her children,” according to a report.
The information police released did not say whether her children are students at Akins, but it did say the private matter did not involve the school. After the school administrators could not help Bonnett, police said, she “became violent” and hit the women.

Police said they tried to use crisis intervention training they receive in how to de-escalate a tense situation with a disturbed person, but Bonnett “became verbally and physically combative with officers.”
It took three officers to restrain Bonnett and put handcuffs on her, according to a warrant charging resisting arrest.
Bonnett was charged with two counts of assaulting a school employee for the punches and one count of assaulting a government official for the kick. Both are misdemeanors
A magistrate set her bail at $10,000, and she was held for a court appearance Thursday.
