A woman was arrested Monday and charged with transporting what police said was more than 50 pounds of marijuana.
Two counts of marijuana trafficking were filed against Jennifer Trish Taylor, 38., and she was held in lieu of $100,000 bail.
On an arrest warrant, police listed her address as 546 Waddell Drive in Hendersonville. Wake County booking records, however, listed her address as Orange Park, Fla.
The arrest warrant said only that Taylor possessed and transported somewhere between 50 and 1,999 pounds of marijuana.
State law, which makes trafficking in drugs a more serious felony than just possession, uses weight categories to determine the severity of the crime.
There are three categories for marijuana trafficking. The second one covers quantities anywhere from more than 50 pounds up to 1,999 pounds.
Police sometimes list specific weights of drugs when bringing charges, but investigators did not do that in Taylor’s case.
Records show Taylor was officially charged at detective headquarters at 4501 Atlantic Ave., but they do not disclose where police found took her into custody or how they say she was transporting the drug.
