Wake County school administrators announced Monday that the draft multiyear student assignment plan will be released 9 a.m. Saturday.
Parents will be able to access the plan at the school district's Web site, www.wcpss.net. For the first time, the school district will list where students may be assigned to attend schools for more than one year at a time.
The plan will cover through the 2011-12 school year. Administrators are warning that the assignments for the 2010-11 and 2011-12 school years are contingent upon getting funding to open new schools planned for those years.
After the plan is released, meetings will be held with the public to get feedback. Meetings will be held Monday at Leesville Road High; Nov. 20 at Knightdale High; Dec. 1 at Cary High; Dec. 3 at Wake Forest-Rolesville High; Dec. 4 at Holly Springs High; and Dec. 8 at Broughton High.

The Leesville meeting will run from 7 to 9 p.m. The other meetings will run from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Meetings will be held in each school's auditorium.
In anticipation of the release, more than 76,000 pamphlets were mailed Friday to families who attend the schools in the draft plan. Administrators are stressing that they're going to all students, not just those who would be reassigned under the plan.
