Four Triangle schools made the list of the nation’s top 500 public high schools released Wednesday by Newsweek.
Raleigh Charter High School was the top-ranked school in North Carolina and No. 17 nationally on the newsmagazine’s “America’s Top High Schools 2015” list. Chapel Hill High School was the state’s third-ranked school and No. 178 nationally.
Carrboro High School was ranked No. 307, and Green Hope High School in Cary was No. 338.
Schools were ranked based on several factors, including graduation rate; college enrollment rate; scores on SAT, ACT, Advancement Placement and International Baccalaureate exams; ratio of counselors to students; and state test scores.
