Three students from the Triangle area were named Region 6 finalists in the 2014 Siemens Competition in Math, Science & Technology, a research competition for high school students.
A record 2,263 students submitted a total of 1,784 projects for consideration.
Four hundred and eight students were named semifinalists, and 97 were named regional finalists, representing 38 states.

▪ Jenny Wang of Cary attends the N. C. School of Science and Mathematics in Durham and was recognized as an individual winner.
▪ Yifei Wang and Sabina Iftikhar of Chapel Hill attend East Chapel Hill High and were recognized as team competitors.
The Siemens Foundation supports educational initiatives in science, technology, engineering and mathematics in the United States.
Its signature programs include the Siemens Competition in Math, Science & Technology and Siemens Science Day.
