Akshar Yeccherla, a seventh-grader at Mills Park Middle School in Cary, was invited to join the Duke University Talent Identification Program’s prestigious Seventh Grade Talent Search. He will be recognized on May 22 at Duke’s Cameron Indoor Stadium.
Duke TIP’s Seventh Grade Talent Search identifies students across the country who have scored at or above the 95th percentile on a grade-level standardized test. As part of the program, these academically talented students take above-level college-entrance exams to learn more about their abilities.
Akshar received a 1440/1600 SAT Score in the Duke TIP exam. He also took second place in Wake County Spelling Bee in March.
Participants also receive support services and gain access to research and other information about using their academic abilities more effectively.
