Several girls in the Triangle have earned Silver Awards, the second-highest achievement in Girl Scouting. Here's what they did for their projects:
Hannah Flynn of Willow Spring joined Key Club to provide service to members of her community. She was able to assist with projects involving sea turtles, premature babies, hunger, and homelessness. She also volunteered with the Salvation Army.
Hannah is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Flynn and a member of Troop 551.
Carolyn Donaldson, Amanda Johnson, Jamie Tyson, Allison Wilcox, and Melanie Young of Apex donated supplies to local animal shelters such as CARA shelter. They were inspired by their love of animals to help local shelters provide for the needs of their occupants.
Carolyn is the daughter of Mark and Heather Donaldson. Amanda is the daughter of Lisa and David Johnson. Jamie is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph M. Tyson. Allison is the daughter of Joe and Holly Wilcox. Melanie is the daughter of Chris and Rose Young.
They are all members of Troop 3057.
