Wake County school system hires chief technology officer

The Wake County school board hired a new chief technology officer on Tuesday and a principal for Bugg Elementary School.

Stacy Lee will fill the long-vacant position of chief technology officer for a salary of $139.000. Lee, currently the chief technology officer of Onslow County schools, will now be in charge of managing the technology needs for North Carolina’s largest school district.

Rebecca Foote will start as principal of Bugg Elementary in Raleigh on Oct. 3 with a salary of $93,808. Foote has been an assistant principal at Enloe High School in Raleigh since 2012.

Foote replaces Johneka Williams, who was transferred to a different school to become an assistant principal. Some Bugg parents and teachers had urged the board in June to keep Williams at the school.

Retired principal Dixie Frazier was appointed interim principal of Centennial Campus Middle School in Raleigh to Sept. 23.
