A community forum will be held Thursday night about the impact on race, discipline and overall academic issues for children of “color” in the Wake County school system.
Organizers of “Community Conversation” Part 2 say in a press release the forum will focus on equality and equity. The groups say they want input from parents, community leaders, and concerned citizens who would like to share their experiences, concerns and discuss resolutions to resolve major issues that impact the education of minorities in the Wake school system.
Organizers say they’ve invited representatives from the Raleigh Police Department, Wake County Sheriff’s Office, Wake County school system, Wake County Board of Commissioners, parents, students and community advocates.
The forum will run from 6-8 p.m. at the North Carolina Justice Center, 224 Dawson Street, Raleigh.
