There are four more charter schools that will open this fall in Wake County.
The State Board of Education voted this morning to give final approval to 26 charter schools, including the four in Wake that had gotten initial approval in the fall. Cardinal Charter Academy, Dynamic Community Charter, Envision Science Academy and Wake Forest Charter Academy will be aggressively recruiting students, hiring staff and finalizing the other details needed for the 2014-15 school year.
A big issue for the new charters is making sure they secure their location. For instance, Envision plans to open in the facility now used by Endeavor Charter School in North Raleigh. Endeavor will be moving into its new building.
If there are any missteps along the way, the schools may tell the state they can’t open on time. That could result in the loss of their charter if they’re not granted a year’s delay.
