Wake County's closure of school Tuesday because of the inclement weather means most students will lose part of their spring break and others will have classes this Saturday.
Traditional-calendar students will now have class on March 23, what would have been the first day of spring break. Their remaining makeup days are June 9-11. That would result in the school year being extended but likely little learning accomplished.
Modified-calendar students will make up Tuesday on March 9, the first day of their spring break.
The Vernon Malone College & Career Academy and Wake Early College of Health and Sciences will make up the day on March 16, which would have been the first day of their spring break.
The Wake N.C. State STEM Early College will also have classes on March 16, which was their final day of spring break.
Year-round students on tracks 1, 3 and 4 will now have classes this Saturday, Feb. 21.
Only year-round students on track 2 and those at the Wake Young Men's Leadership Academy and Wake Young Women's Leadership Academy won't have to make up Tuesday because they already have the day off.
