New principals hired at Enloe High School, Heritage High School

The Wake County school board announced two new area superintendents and three new principals on Tuesday.

Seydric Williams was named Northwestern Area Superintendent, receiving a salary of $126,371. Wake created a ninth area superintendent position this year to keep up with the growing number of schools. Williams has been principal of Creech Road Elementary School in Garner since 2013.

Mark Savage was named Western Area Superintendent, receiving a salary of $126,371. Savage has been principal of Heritage High School in Wake Forest since it opened in 2010.

Scott Lyons will replace Savage as principal of Heritage High, receiving a salary of $108,414. Lyons has been principal of Enloe High School in Raleigh since 2012.

William Chavis will replace Lyons at Enloe, receiving a salary of $90,714. Chavis has been principal of Fuquay-Varina Middle School since 2013.

Katherine Williams was named principal of York Elementary School in Raleigh, starting Aug. 1 with a salary of $78,793. Williams has been assistant principal of Forest Pines Elementary School in Raleigh since 2013.

Elaine Hanzer, a retired administrator, was named interim principal of Reedy Creek Middle School in Cary through Sept. 20.
