Advocates of open government from across the state will gather March 16 in Durham for the N.C. Open Government Coalition’s annual Sunshine Day celebration.
Attorney General Roy Cooper will deliver the keynote address, which will be sandwiched by panels on how to make requests for public information and transparency in the state’s justice system, including body cameras for police and public records in the courts.
The event starts at 10 a.m. at the Durham Convention Center. Registration is $30, which includes lunch. Find more information at the coalition's web site.
Sunshine Day is part of Sunshine Week, an annual national initiative to promote discussions about freedom of information. The week starts March 15.
