Bragg men killed in Afghanistan

Staff Sgt. William R. Neil Jr., 38, of Holmdel, N.J., was killed when the vehicle he was riding in struck an improvised bomb near Sperwan Ghar, Afghanistan. He was assigned to Company C, 3rd Battalion, 3rd Special Forces Group based at Fort Bragg. Neil enlisted in the military in January 1998 as a supply specialist.

He became a Green Beret in 2006.

He is survived by his parents and three sisters.


Pfc. Antoine V. Robinson, 20, of Detroit, died of injuries suffered in Nawa, Afghanistan, when a vehicle he was repairing collapsed. He was assigned to the 4th Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division in Fort Bragg. Robinson joined the Army in September 2005 as a mechanic.He is survived by his mother, father and grandmother.

His death is under investigation.
