The City of Oaks could use a savior – or maybe a super hero or a music icon – filling seats at City Hall, according to some voters.

Jesus Christ, Batman, Elvis Presley, Jimi Hendrix and Carlos Santana each received a write-in vote for Raleigh City Council in the Oct. 10 municipal election. Meanwhile, someone penned in Willie Nelson in both the Raleigh council and mayoral races.

Donald Trump also earned a write-in vote for Raleigh mayor.

People gave a vote apiece to “Anybody but them,” “None of the above,” and “My fat <expletive>” for City Council District A, where Batman was named. District B also had an “Anybody else” nomination, as well as one for Harambe, the gorilla killed last year at the Cincinnati Zoo.

The Rock was among the write-ins for District D, as was Widespread Panic.

Someone felt “any democrat candidate” would work best for District E, which included the vote for Jesus and one for Donald Duck.
