Sierra Club endorses Nixon for N.C. House
The Sierra Club of North Carolina has endorsed Democrat Rich Nixon in his bid for the District 26 seat in the N.C. House of Representatives. The district includes Clayton, Smithfield and Wilson’s Mills.
“For too long, out-of-touch Raleigh politicians haven’t done enough to protect Eastern North Carolina’s lakes, rivers, air and land,” said Ken Brame, the N.C. Sierra Club’s political chair. “It is time for a change. Rich Nixon will stand up for Johnston County values and fight for our natural resources. The Sierra Club is proud to endorse Rich Nixon.”
Nixon, who teaches at Corinth Holders High School, was thankful for the endorsement. “I am humbled to have the support of the Sierra Club,” he said. “As a grandparent, I’m committed to doing all I can to leave North Carolina better than I found it for my grandchildren and future generations. You can count on me to stand up for our air, land and water.”
