Early voting in North Carolina

Voters in 23 counties could have fewer opportunities to vote early this year after Republican-led election boards approved plans that cut the number of early voting hours from the 2012 election.

The NC Republican Party had called for limiting early voting hours due to concerns about voter fraud. Despite that effort, 70 counties will expand early voting hours from 2012. Nine counties eliminated Sunday early voting sites offered in 2012.
