Three seats on the Morrisville Town Council are up for election this year.
The western Wake County town is home to over 32,000 residents and is divided into four districts. The council has seven members, and this year, voters will elect representatives for one at-large seat and for District 1 and District 3.
Patty Cheng was challenging incumbent Satish Garimella for the at-large seat but withdrew from the race on Friday. Incumbent Anne Robotti is running to keep her seat against opponent Subba Madireddy. Liz Johnson is running for re-election unopposed.
All residents are able to vote for all the candidates in each election.
The town’s mayor, the other at-large seat, District 2 and District 4, will be up for election in 2025.
Early voting in the Nov. 7 election begins Oct. 19 and runs through Nov. 4.
At-large
▪ Satish Garimella (incumbent)
Garimella was elected to the council in 2019 and lives in Morrisville’s Breckenridge subdivision. He is a technical architect with a pharmaceutical company. If re-elected, he wants to continue focusing on transportation and traffic alleviation, education, the town’s youth and seniors, and development.
District 1

Madireddy is vice president of Cloud Operations at Truist Bank and has lived in Morrisville for 14 years. He is on the town’s Smart City Steering Committee and says his priorities include safety, transportation, increasing community engagement, and the environment.
▪ Anne Robotti (incumbent)
Robotti has been serving Morrisville’s District 1 since 2019 and is running for a second term. She is a program manager for Cisco. She wants to focus on inclusion and diversity, education, sustainability and economic development.
District 3
▪ Liz Johnson (incumbent)
Johnson, one of the longest-serving Town Council members in Morrisville, was first elected in 1999. She has been mayor pro tem since 2007 and is the only candidate for District 3, which consists of the town’s Preston and Weston areas. Johnson plans to focus on parks and greenways, infrastructure and transit, schools and housing options.
Voting Information
Residents may vote early at the Wake County Board of Elections office at 1200 N. New Hope Road in Raleigh. Voting hours are between 8:30 a.m. and 5:15 p.m.
A second early voting site will open in Apex on Oct. 28 at the John M. Brown Community Center, 53 Hunter St.
On Election Day, voters are required to vote at their designated precincts, which can be found on the State Board of Elections website.
