Patty Cheng, candidate for Morrisville Town Council, withdraws from race. Here’s why.
Satish Garimella, candidate for Morrisville Town Council
Liz Johnson, candidate for Morrisville Town Council
Anne Robotti, candidate for Morrisville Town Council
This year, four people are making a run for three open seats on the Morrisville Town Council.
Patty Wei-Pei Cheng withdrew from the election on Oct. 20, saying a “developing health issue has forced me to realize that I will be unable to serve if elected.”
“I would like to thank all my fellow candidates and supporters for enthusiastically listening to my message on the issues of fiscal responsibility, environmental responsibility, fairly representing all citizens, and keeping Morrisville affordable for long-term residents,” Cheng said in a statement.
Cheng was a challenger to incumbent Satish Garimella for this election’s open at-large seat. Now, Garimella runs unopposed.
Incumbent Anne Robotti is defending her District 1 seat against challenger Subba Madireddy, and incumbent Liz Johnson is running unopposed for the District 3 seat.
Early voting for the Nov. 7 election began Oct. 19 and runs through Nov. 4.
