The N.C. Republican Party rolled out a new tool in the fight against Sen. Kay Hagan this week: a duck mascot.
The party has sent a person in a yellow duck costume to landmarks across the state this week. The N.C. GOP Duck has posted pictures in Raleigh, Charlotte, Wilmington and Greensboro.
The duck holds a sign questioning why Hagan didn’t agree to participate in a fourth debate with Republican Thom Tillis. Instead, Tillis will answer questions as part of a roundtable discussion with reporters from Time Warner Cable, The News & Observer and the Charlotte Observer. (It airs at 7 p.m. on Tuesday.) Other signs ask about Hagan’s absence from a security briefing about Islamic State militants.
Each sign advertises the GOP’s website, hidinghagan.com.
