State House Democrats have announced their leadership team for the upcoming session.
Rep. Larry Hall of Durham retains the position of Democratic leader. Rep. Susan Fisher of Asheville will be deputy leader.
Conference chairs are Rep. Grier Martin of Raleigh and Rep. Garland Pierce of Wagrum.
Legislative liaisons are Rep. Micky Michaux of Durham and Rep. Michael Wray of Gaston.

Democratic whips will be announced at the start of the session, which begins on Jan. 14.
“We have strong leadership devoted to executing the caucus agenda and strategy of pursuing the priorities of the citizens’ of our state,” Hall said in a news release issued Tuesday. “I look forward to building on our strengths and continuing to work on issues that are of the highest concern.”
Democrats gained seats in the House during the past election, but they remain firmly in the minority, 74-46.
