Former career Marine and one-time foreign diplomat Marshall Adame is making another run for U.S. Rep. Walter Jones’ 3rd Congressional District seat.
Adame will run in the Democratic primary. He lost in the 2008 primary.
Adame’s campaign sent out a news release on Tuesday saying that the candidate filed in July but has been in Saudi Arabia working for the U.S. Department of Defense. He plans to return to his Jacksonville home next month, and step up his campaign.
Jason Thigpen, who runs an advocacy group for students who are veterans, earlier this year changed his party affiliation to Democrat, blaming the Tea Party, and will also compete in that primary.
