Wisconsin Gov. and expected presidential candidate Scott Walker will be a featured speaker at the state Republican Party’s convention in June. The convention will take place June 5 to June 7 at the Raleigh Convention Center.
Walker will be the keynote speaker at dinner on June 5.
North Carolina Republican Party Chairman Claude E. Pope, Jr. said in a statemennt “there are few examples of a leader who has taken on liberal special interest groups in his state such as Governor Walker.”
The announcement comes amid news that an influential Republican, David Koch, is favoring Walker in the 2016 race. Koch is one of the world’s richest men and is one of the party’s major fundraisers.
