Garner businessman Brian M. Tribble, a Democrat, announced Thursday he is running for the House seat in Wake County held by Rep. Nelson Dollar of Cary.
Tribble, 40, is president of Bear Franchising LLC, a franchise-based logistics company that operates in 11 states. A Navy Reservist, he was deployed last year to Djibouti, Africa in support of Operation Enduring Freedom Horn of Africa.
“I am running because I believe North Carolina can do better,” Tribble said in a statement. “Too many families are still struggling to make ends meet and years of cuts have left our schools drastically underfunded. It’s time to come together, put aside partisan bickering and focus on what’s important: creating jobs and giving our schools the resources they need to ensure every student in the state gets a world-class education."
He and his wife, Whitney, have two sons.
