Holly Jones, the Buncombe County commissioner who is running in the Democratic primary for lieutenant governor, announced Tuesday that she has raised nearly $200,000 so far.
According to her campaign, Jones raised $194,300 in four and one-half months, and has almost $114,000 cash on hand. More than 900 people have contributed to her campaign, she says.
Campaign finance reports covering last year are due on Friday.
Jones is running against former state legislator Linda Coleman, retired Secretary of State legislative liaison Robert Wilson of Cary, and financial services business owner Ron Newton of Durham. Lt. Gov. Dan Forest is unopposed in the Republican primary in March.
