PBS looks at NC voting rights

A TV program airing this week on PBS takes a look at voting rights in North Carolina.

Host Alexander Heffner of “The Open Mind” program interviews Anita Earls, executive director of the Southern Coalition for Social Justice. She is a civil rights attorney who has been involved in voting rights litigation over North Carolina’s legislation requiring photo ID and scaling back early voting, among other provisions.

PBS advertises it as a discussion about “voter suppression.”

The program first aired this weekend, and is running through the week.
