Domecast, our weekly podcast on government and politics in North Carolina, is ready for the weekend of May 7-8, and we’re celebrating our first year of political podcasts.

As the House Bill 2 drama rages on, we talk about what it’s like to report on such a divisive issue. And we meet Jordan Schrader, The News & Observer’s new political editor.

We’ll also explain some of the overshadowed news of the week: Developments on state budget negotiations, tax cuts, and a plan for online voter registration. And we get a behind-the-scenes look at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner from Steve “Buzz” Thomma, the senior White House correspondent for McClatchy Newspapers.

We wrap up, as always, with Headliners of the Week – and a special guest returns to the podcast to celebrate the anniversary. Colin Campbell of The N&O hosts, and Dan Boylan and Pat Gannon of The Insider join the panel.

The Domecast is available and can be subscribed on iTunes by clicking here. Users of other podcast apps can find the RSS feed link by clicking here.
