A few behind-the-scenes people in the state’s political world have new jobs.
Tommy Sevier, who was deputy chief of staff for Senate leader Phil Berger before going to work as a lobbyist at Moore & Van Allen, is now with McGuireWoods Consulting. He’s on the government relations team as senior vice president.
“We welcome the breadth and depth of state and federal public affairs and government relations experience he brings to our team,” said Harry Kaplan, senior vice president and director of the firm’s government relations team.
And Patrick Sebastian, late of U.S. Rep. Renee Ellmers’ campaign, has joined the political and public affairs marketing firm Majority Strategies.

Sebastian served as Mitt Romney’s North Carolina Political Director and RNC State Director for the 2012 campaign.
Majority Strategies has worked for Republican presidential, congressional and gubernatorial campaigns.
