A glance at the lottery management structure and salaries (full bonuses will be paid if the lottery starts by April 5):
Six deputy executive directors will oversee sales, marketing/advertising, finance/administration, information systems, legal/security and legislative/corporate communications.
SALARY: $110,000 to $145,000
BONUS: $16,000 if hired by Feb. 5.

Twelve departmental directors will report to the deputy executive directors.
SALARY: $80,000 to $120,000
BONUS: $12,000 if hired by Feb. 5.
Forty managers will report to the departmental directors.
SALARY: $50,000 to $90,000, though the lower paid employees in this category are expected to be closer to $65,000.
BONUS: Each will be part of a plan covering all lottery employees below the top ranks. Each employee will be in one of four tiers and get a bonus of $8,000, $5,000, $2,500 or $1,000.
NOTE: The employee bonus decreases by 25 percent if the employee is hired between Feb. 6 and March 5, by 50 percent if hired between March 6 and March 15, by 75 percent if hired between March 16 and March 25, and to zero if hired after March 25.
The bonus also will decrease by 25 percentage points for each week that the lottery misses its April 5 starting date. No bonus will be awarded if the lottery starts after May 5.
