WHAT YOU'LL SEE ON TV: THE FIRST N.C. LOTTERY AD

The following are storyboards that served as a blueprint for the first TV commercials promoting the new state lottery. The TV commercials and radio ads, both produced by Wray Ward Laseter of Charlotte, are set to debut Monday. Although the storyboards are cartoons, the actual commercials will feature actors. The Lottery Commission says the ads will be ready to air next week but it is not releasing final versions yet.

1 - The ads open on a living room as a man walks in, drops his keys onto a table and sits down. He gets a coin out of his pocket and begins scratching his lottery card.

2 - (Sound effects: drum roll) The man gives his wife an excited look, begins to scratch off the final box and then is startled by a college marching band entering his living room.

3 - The band plays a college fight song while its members knock over lamps and bump into the couch.

4 - A voice-over explains how the lottery will contribute millions of dollars to education.
