A woman told police she thought her baby’s father was cheating on her, and that’s why she rammed the car he and his accused mistress were riding in, according to WWAY.

Police said Takera Mitchell, 21, had her 1-year-old baby in the car when she rammed the couple twice, the Wilmington Star-News reports.

“The father of the child was in another vehicle with another woman, and Mitchell was chasing them,” according to the newspaper. She caught up to the car and rammed it.

“She also ran over the father of the child’s foot when he got out of the vehicle to talk with her,” Wilmington Police spokeswoman Jennifer Dandron told The Star-News.

“She was driving her car with a 1-year-old in the car, she was attempting to hit the father of her child with her car because she said ‘he was cheating on her with another woman,’” the spokeswoman told the Port City Daily.

According to WETC, “Mitchell has been charged with child abuse, injury to personal property and two counts of assault with a deadly weapon.”

Wilmington, NC police are asking for help identifying a woman who is seen on video purposely striking a pedestrian with her car on Feb. 6, 2019, then fleeing the scene. The victim suffered multiple injuries to her head, shoulder, hips and knees.
