The state Department of Transportation will host an informational workshop Thursday on a plan to widen a four-mile stretch of Interstate 40 in West Raleigh.
DOT plans to start work in January 2010, adding two lanes to the four-lane section of I-40 between Wade Avenue and U.S. 1/64, easing one of the region's worst traffic bottlenecks.
The information session will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Ramada Inn, 1520 Blue Ridge Road, Raleigh.
