The exit from westbound Interstate 40 to Rock Quarry Road will be closed for nine days beginning at midnight Friday so it can be rebuilt as part of the Fortify project on the Beltline.
Workers will reconfigure the ramp at Exit 300A as part of the ongoing state Department of Transportation project to replace deteriorating pavement on the Beltline across the south side of Raleigh. The rebuilt ramp is scheduled to reopen in time for morning rush hour on Monday, Oct. 24.
Detour signs will send drivers to Hammond Road (Exit 299), where drivers can cross over the interstate and take eastbound I-40 back to Rock Quarry.
The eastbound Rock Quarry Road exit ramp will remain open, as will the two on-ramps.
