Troopers: Benson man wore no seat belt before fatal crash

State troopers said a Benson man was not wearing a seat belt when his car crashed late Wednesday and he was partially thrown from the vehicle, killing him.

James Albert McAllister, 45, of Benson was alone in the 1999 Honda Accord when it went off the right side of Marler Road, then came back onto and across the road, off the left side and into a dirt pile in a yard, overturning, Sgt. T.L. Hardy said.

Troopers said McAllister was partially thrown out of the back of the vehicle before it stopped upside down.

McAllister was alone, heading west on Marler Road when the crash happened shortly before 11 p.m.
