Cary police have been busy cracking down on school zone speeding

Cary police issued more than 30 citations for speeding in school zones in a single day last week. Over two days, the count was 52.

The police department’s searchable online reporting database shows 75 citations issued Wednesday, Aug. 30. Of them, 32 were charges for speeding in a school zone.

The department followed that up with 20 more school zone speeding tickets Thursday.

The citations were spread across multiple locations, including McCrimmon Parkway, Reedy Creek Road and Maynard Road.
