Generator leaks diesel fuel into downtown Raleigh storm drain

Emergency crews were investigating a large generator that leaked diesel fuel into a storm drain on Wilmington Street in Raleigh on Sunday.

Police and fire crews were called to the scene at 410 S. Wilmington St. at about 9:30 a.m. Sunday and were working to discover how much diesel spilled, according to ABC11 and WRAL.

Drivers are asked to avoid the area if possible. It’s unclear when the scene will be cleared.

No other information was immediately available.
