A jogger was critically injured on Holly Springs Road when he was struck by a student driving to Holly Springs High School about 6:30 a.m. Monday, town officials said.
Derek Macrae Davis, 37, was taken to WakeMed Raleigh hospital, where he was reported to be in critical condition in the hospital’s intensive-care unit.
Davis and his wife apparently were in a crosswalk near Linksland Drive when he was hit, town spokesman Mark Andrews said.
Andrews identified the 18-year-old driver of the car as Roberto Carlos Solis-Reyes of Apex. He said he and his 17-year-old passenger were not hurt.
