One killed in Durham car crash

A woman was killed in a crash at the intersection of Moline and South Roxboro streets on Friday morning, according to police.

Alta Ann Surles, 67, of Durham was driving a Honda Accord west on Moline at about 7:40 a.m. when she went through a stop sign and struck the driver-side door of a Buick Enclave traveling north on South Roxboro Street, said police spokesman Wil Glenn.

Surles was pronounced dead at the scene, Glenn said.

The driver of the Enclave, who suffered minor injuries, will not be cited, Glenn said.
