Three southbound lanes of Capital Boulevard will remain closed through the Friday morning commute as workers repair a water main break and repave the road.
The city had expected to reopen all lanes of Capital near Brentwood Road by 10 p.m. Thursday but now says that won’t happen until 9 a.m. Friday.
The broken water pipe under Capital Boulevard was reported late Wednesday morning as water began to cover the roadway.
Meanwhile, East Six Forks Road in Raleigh fully reopened Thursday after three days of water-main repair work. A water pipe under the 100 and 200 blocks of East Six Forks Road, near Anderson Drive, broke Sunday night, and it took through Wednesday to make repairs and repave the road.
