Construction crews this weekend will close both on-ramps from Hammond Road to westbound Interstate 40, from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday, the state Department of Transportation said.
The work is part of a three-year project to rebuild Raleigh’s southern Beltline. The outside lane of I-40 West also will be closed at the Hammond Road exit over the weekend, reducing the freeway to two travel lanes.
Detours will be marked to direct both northbound and southbound Hammond Road drivers to I-40 West via South Saunders Street.
