Most power restored after storm

By Sunday evening, power crews had restored power to most North Carolina counties following Saturday evening's severe thunderstorms.

As of Sunday evening, Progress Energy reported 92 customers without power in its northern region that includes Wake, Johnston and much of the Piedmont. That number is about what the utility would have on a normal day.

At 7:20 p.m. Sunday, Duke Energy was working to restore power to about 720 Durham customers, with about 40 more still without power in Orange County.
