City delays changes in carwash program

March 13, 2008 12:00 AM

A City Council subcommittee Wednesday delayed making changes to Raleigh's carwash certification program.

The Public Works Committee pledged to take up the issue again in two weeks after members had more time to review possible changes to the program.

The committee also asked carwash operators to provide additional information on the costs associated with installing systems for recycling or reclaiming water. The committee is considering mandating that certified carwashes recycle or reclaim a certain percentage of their water.
