If you have plans this weekend, make sure you’re ready for the heat.
The National Weather Service is continuing to warn people about the heat this week, as temperatures stall out in the high 90s into triple digits in the Triangle and across central North Carolina. Over the weekend, the heat index will reach 105 or higher.
Humidity and hot temperatures had the Triangle at 98 to 103 degrees Thursday. On Friday and Saturday, temperatures are expected to be 95 to 100 degrees.
But it will feel even hotter this weekend. The weather service forecasts that heat index values will reach 105 degrees or higher Friday through Sunday. Friday could feel at hot as 107 degrees, with little wind.
Monday through Wednesday are expected to bring with them a chance of showers and thunderstorms, but temperatures will remain in the 90s.
