Ed King: Wrestling with jobs

Regarding the Aug. 14 Point of View “ Jobs, not welfare, key to escaping poverty”: Gene Nichol is in the good company of former Minnesota governor and current ardent supporter of raising the minimum wage, Jesse Ventura. Ventura stated on Ora.tv, “I don’t care if it’s the ditch digger or the biggest financial planner on the planet, if you put in a 40-hour work week, you should be able to live without government subsidies, without food stamps, without welfare, without anything like that. Your wages should be high enough to accomplish that.”

I’d go to the mat to echo that opinion!
