Regarding the Oct. 1 Point of View “ Dear fellow teenage driver”: Thanks to Kayla Trudnak for her shout-out to fellow teen drivers about the dangers and responsibilities of the rookie driver. I just want to add one other thought.
It may be tempting for teens to mimic experienced drivers who quickly make a left turn, crossing and dodging oncoming traffic. While these ready and eager and older drivers appear to have the turn fully coordinated and timed, sometimes even they mess up and cause an accident. The younger driver is best advised to wait out the traffic and turn when fully clear. Don’t be lured into attempting a fast turn yourself just because others seem to do it so effortlessly. Better to wait for a safe turn than to live with regret.
