Regarding the Sept. 24 news article “ N.C. sees rise in unaffiliated voters”: It makes perfect sense to me to register as unaffiliated. What better way to find out what is being said on both sides, however unpalatable?
We live in a world where many regard politics as more of a problem than a solution to challenges in life. Furthermore, one’s political affiliation is available at the Board of Election website for anyone to see. Why would a wily voter want to acquire a party label with all the negative connotations that implies?
Looking at the cup half full, I am happy that people are registering and take that as a sign that many will get out and vote Nov. 4 or in early voting.
