Regarding the Oct. 15 news item “ NC magistrates directed to marry gay couples”: If a magistrate refuses to follow the law on gay marriage, he or she faces termination. When the attorney general, Roy Cooper, refused to follow the law on gay marriage, he was applauded and recommended for a promotion to governor.
Both individuals took an oath to support the constitution of North Carolina and the laws of this state. Other than political correctness, what am I missing?
